You did good!! On the quality - I have a small stack to return - the answer is - if it's big enough and involving star cards or SP's - yes - I've done it many times - they require that you list each card on a request letter you put together and if you are returning a variation SP, make sure you highlight the crap out of it or you may wind up with the common. The address is the general one that is on the back of the topps pack if I recollect; I have the list in my desk somewhere if I'm wrong; I think Kevin has it - been a long time since I've returned cards but at 8/3$, it's worth it.

    I sent my cards to:
    The Topps Company, Inc.
    ATTN: Consumer Relations
    401 York Ave.
    Duyea, PA 18642 (570) 457-6761
I insured the cards so that I know they got them and yes, I've always gotten my cards back - sometimes you don't get what you want - it's not like they are handpicking them - sometimes they include a few packs of cards for your trouble - I think they try.

Great pulls! You are almost half way to a set there! Are you sure that some of the chromes
arn't refractors? Some of them should be (numbered on the back to 555). Man I think you
hit all the big sp's....you probably hit some big rookies too (Murphy, Creighton, Navarro??)
Check with highend here, he is looking for the grandstand glories, nice to pull a piece
    with nice eye appeal too!

As far as replecments, topps will replace damaged or dinged cards but Im not sure if they
really care about centered cards...it would be nice if there replacments were centered but
don't count on it. Use the address on the back of the pack and if you want to call first
    here is the 800 number:

    (800) 489-9149.....this is customer relations and they actually care about the customers, the other
number is customer service and they are rude. Lynn rocks if you get her on the phone, if she
does say that she can get you centered cards, make sure you address the package to her!

Good Luck and Congrats on the pulls!

Thanx for the 800 number - I think they try - in 93 I sent them an expensive insert card due to very por centering - they sent it back telling me they didn't have any better and included another insert and some packs. In 96 (?) when they did the reprinted Mantles - I wrote them complaining about the distribution of Mantles - I did say I understood that these were estimates but 0 in a box was unfair at $55 - they sent me 4 Mantles. I think they try and do listen - as you have said.

Believe it or not the guys running these replacment centers know NADA about cards! The companies
would have it no other way..the risk is too much, the only thing they know is book values and they
will not sway from that.......sometimes that is good sometimes bad, we all know there is sometimes
    a huge difference between a 100 dollar card and a 100 card.

I would be real clear on the package so you don't have to resend cards...if there aren't sutible
    replacments then.....

    Good Luck

  • kevin- your right that the people taking returns have no concept of the value of the cards. in 02 i pulled a heritage real one warren spahn auto the corner was dinged so i sent it back requesting an equal value card in return . a few weeks later i got 5 packs of gallery and 5 packs of topps total in return.image

edited to add: kevin thanks for looking out on the kaline GSG, i have that one and picked up a couple of others this weekend. i still need mays berra musial and killebrew. the killebrew and musial are a priority , its the first year they were included in the subset. i pm'd you regarding your wantlist. which ones do you still need? my buddy gave me a bunch this weekend to sell for him but because of our "debate" about month ago i feel obligated to give you first crack (no charge) because i was out of line. yeah if you leave it up to them you will get screwed...I remember back in 01 and 02 the 2001 heritage
red autos were constantly selling for twice book, so if I had a bunch of damaged GU I would
ask on the phone for heritage red ink replecments...many of them only booked 40-60 but you
could get twice that on ebay for them. Did you send the packs back?

    Kevin
  • no i just gave them to my son, no pulls worth mentioning.

i edited my previous post i dont think you saw it

Loth...yeah the sp's are tricky...you have the list? You might have some just lying around. Check those
Helton's out too....the little picture has the purple jersey!

Highend...Thanks for giving me first crack....

I want to say that someone somewhere had the Killebrew....perhaps the beckett board? Do you

I've opened a bunch of packs where the first few cards have a horizontal indentation along the top of the card, it runs almost the length of the card. That is good to hear that there is a replacement option.

    Joe,

I got my second Purple Helton tonight, so if Lothar doesn't have them, I'll trade it to you. I haven't actually figured out what I need yet though.
  • Actually, I pulled a Killebrew GSG this weekend. I hadn't gotten around to mentioning it. The other worthwhile pulls from the weekend's activities were a Powell Auto and a Black Refractor Acevedo.

I think I was the one you were thinking of in regards to the Killebrew GSG. I pulled one this weekend. It is currently up on Ebay under my auctions (vssd).
