1934 Heavy Motto 25c...optimism for PCGS recognition

Some of you Washington quarter enthusiasts may have seen my post here last week regarding the 1934 Heavy Motto quarter. With a detailed letter I sent to David Hall, I was seeking to convince PCGS as to the validity a dn importance for recognizing the 1934 Heavy Motto coin as a separate variety, just as they do Light Motto coin, as well as the 1934 Double Die.

Last Friday afternoon I received an e-mail reply back from David Hall. The most important wording which came from his note to me was, and I quote: "I'll check it out and we'll probably add the variety." Needless to say, I am very pleased that David is giving attention to this subject matter and is seriously considering this coin for recognition as a variety. I took David's note as a very good sign that this will eventually happen! David did not elude as to when we may expect this to occur, but as I said, at this point and from what he said to me, I'm very optimistic that it will be recognized as a separate, stand-alone variety.

I will keep forum members and Washington quarter enthusiasts informed whenever I find out anything else.
