Little Help Paypal and paying problems

OK. I figure I will give youguys my situation and MAYBE someone might know the answer.

Im attempting to pay a seller via paypal. I go to pay him and the American Express Credit Card is "grayed" out. I call paypal. They say there is a "red flag" on the transaction but can not tell me more. Im thinking Amex is having a cow with all the money Im "throwing" around (well more then usual) and held the account.

Called Amex, nope everything is fine. Call back to paypal. Sorry we cant give information out to you with regards to this. hmmmmm I would assume if it was "flagged" on my end they would be able to tell me about my own account right?

I activate a new Credit Card (MC got 5 or 6 laying around....yeah right) and put that on my paypal account and make it the primary CC. Try the transaction again. No dice still grayed out.

Anyone come across this before?

I know that some sellers do not accept PAYPAL with credit card funds; only if you fund your account from a checking account.

hmmm good call. I checked his auction and it had the AMEX and other CC logos and no mention of NOT accepting CCs via paypal.

I am guilty of not checking sometimes......
