    This is the most whacked out post I have seen lately....and what the heck is 3.2%???? Sometimes, it just isnt worth putting your '3.2' cents worth.....

    LALASD4, Some SBAs in 1979 had wide rims which made the date closer to the rim(NEAR DATE), they also refer to them as (WIDE RIM)!

    hey now

    the 3.2% is an obvious reference to "three-two beer" which was sold to unfortunate 18-21 year olds in many states. you could get a buzz if you drank enough, and a headache if you didn't quite make the buzz!! it was common up until the mid-70's.

    Well I have one for sure right here in front of me. Now, I can email a scan of it to anyone that wants to see

    what it looks like but in my short, self taught computer-dom, I have never gotten to where I can post pictures

    here. I can put them on ebay and can email them but as far as putting them up here....well, let's just

    say I have never gotten that far along.!

    Another commonly used name for 3.2% beer is "near beer."

    Thus the reference to 3.2% coins being called "near dates."

    Sorry for the confusion....I thought everyone knew about near beer.
