Why me??

I find a coin on eBay that I would really like to add to my collection. 2002 catalog value is $4.00 for this proof issue. I put in a bid at $7.00, figuring I would be okay, and then forgot about it. I get sniped in the last minute, by a guy with 10 feedbacks in the last year. Looking at what he bid on (4 items in last 90 days) is 3 MTG cards, and a set of Classical music CD's. Looking through his feedback, I don't recognize a single coin dealer, let alone any of the regular dealers listing Yugo stuff. I guess I should have left it alone until the end and slipped in a 3-second snipe (my personal best. I have yet to master the 1- or 2- second snipe). Maybe the dealer with toss a second-chance my way. If not, at least I know (or at least would like to think) that there will be 1 less person to bid against on the next one that comes up.

  • Yugoslavia 1987 100 dinara Vuc Karadzic commem. Only a $4.00 coin, but one that I would like to have. I am starting to build on the commems, and that is one that I haven't seen on eBay in a long time. Should've just watched it and put in a 3-second snipe (my personal best. cannot seem to master the 1- or 2- second snipe). I put in a bid of $7.00 plus his $3.00 shipping charge. I would gladly still pay $10.00 if anyone here has one available. (preferably still in the mint folder, but at this point I am not too picky).

Maybe Danglen? He hasn't been posting as much, but does answer email fast--I clicked on his name on an ebay auction and sent it via their system with a very fast response. He tends to have a pretty wide variety.

Sorry, Kuhli. I feel your pain. I just had the same thing happen to me on a Polish Notgeld piece with "PX Section" listed on it. I had no idea what it was, but it seems to be a reference to the American PX store? How is that possible? Anyway, I put in a higher bid than the high asking price, because I wasn't able to snipe it. But someone sniped it from me at the last second. I deserve it; should have put a way high bid on it.
