Anyone Got a Mint '76 Trottier OPC Rookie?

I seem to recall about 5 or so weeks ago someone here on the boards mentioned that he had a few Trottier OPC rookies that were candidates for a straight 9. I don't recall who it was, but this person was hesitant to get them graded because there are no 9's yet. Don't quite understand this logic. Anyway, I'm in the market for one that could 9 if anyone has one.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

shagrotn77 - It appears that the Trottier might be a very difficult card. Currently there have been 47 graded with NO nines, and only 10 8's. I bought my 8 for less than SMR about a year ago. At the time I never imagined it would be a difficult card. I sent in one in my past submission that I thought was a borderline 8 but it came back a 7. I will keep my eye out for cards that might 9 and I will certainly check at the Canadian Expo.

I'm sure there are a bunch of people looking for one. It's pretty amazing that there aren't any PSA 9's yet, but I think I'm even more amazed that only 2 of the 20 submitted to Beckett have graded 9.0. That seems like a much lower mint (or better) percentage than most BVG/BGS O-Pee-Chee cards from the era. The only one I've ever owned had smokin' corners and edges, but the print quality was horrific and the back was badly off-centered. I guess factory problems may be common with the card.

I have seen very few wax boxes from this year and have not seen a lot of uncut sheets, which helps to explain the lack of 9's and 9.5's in BGS/BVG form.
  • if a 9 ever showed up, it'd go for $600 or higher. i know Ray Millette and several others are looking for it

i have a raw set minus the trotts and not one card would grade an 8! good luck and in this case a sheet cut card might have to do?
i collected 70's hockey for years and that is the only rookie card i have not seen in a psa 9 holder!save for a steve shutt which also kicked my arse !
