Heritage Convention Next Week??

Ive heard a few people mention that they are in the Atlanta area. I am going to be up there a week
from today through the weekend. If my man can hide me 7 boxes of heritage retail at the target
in Cumming, wouldn't it be cool if some of us met and all busted together? We could bring trade
lists and trade right there. Those who can't be there could paypal us some money and we
could pick up boxes for you (if you couldn't find any.)

Maybe there aren't a lot of people from there, but I thought to myself, if someone up there could
hide some, and there were a few people able to meet, it would be cool! Afterwards we could raid
the card conventions in Marietta and at the Venture Mall...heck with that much heritage flying
we might be able to complete some sets!!

Maybe Im dreaming...LMK

  • Kevin,

Trader Retreat and Topps sent me a hobby box of Heritage to review and I just busted it. Not sure how well I did.....I will post the results in a few on the trade board....maybe you can check in and let me know. I guess I need to find the list of shortprints to really know if I got anything decent. Didn't pull a black bordered chrome or an autograph...so I am guessing the box was subpar. Just goes to show you that they don't send loaded boxes for reviews!

Anyway, if I remember correctly you live right down the street from me....so maybe it's you that has been cleaning out the Target's and K-Marts of Heritage because I can't find any:>}. I checked the FairLakes Target/Walmart and the Jermantown Rd. K-Mart a couple of times with no luck. If you come across a bunch, can you drop me a line and let me know. I wouldn't mind picking up a couple of boxes and work on completing the set. Thanks.

This is Stone193 coming to you live via satellite from Sunny San Antonio. We've got a lot of stuff planned for the big event - we'll be doing a lot of live interviewing and in general we have a lot of special events too numerous to discuss at this time. But as the itinerary is set for the weekend - we'll be keeping everyone posted. One of the big events will be the much anticipated
TOPPLING OF TOPPS TOWER OF GUM contest - of course we have been getting a lot of PM's about the grand prize - I never realized how many Brien (Not Ken) Talor fans there were out there.
Well it's back to you Kevin - this Stone the Zone from S.A. Texas.

Ken - just PM us - we'll try to help you all we can with our doubles to complete your set.

  • Mike,

That would be great! I am going through them right now to figure out how many SPs I pulled. Will post it up shortly....

    Ken
  • Hey guys,

How do you tell the "Old Logo" from the "New Logo" on the SPs? Are they talking about the team logo in the small circle in the top corner?

Yes, e.g. if you have a Cincinatti logo - compare the potential SP with the rest of the Cincy logos - you will see, e.g., that the thick C is the vintage one since it doesn't look like any of the others in the base set. All and all, it could get tricky - beside Kevin - the best contributor to sorting out this whole mess is John Basilone - if you check any of the threads dealing with 04 Heritage you will see a really outstanding list of the SP's provided by Basilone - Thanx John

Thats funny, I have busted over 200 packs of this stuff and in 24 packs you busted pulled
3 cards I need for the set! LOL Thats the value of these breaks, you will always find
guys who need these cards..they sell well, and trade well.

The Khalid is a solid rookie chrome pull. #396 is not a sp...you must of missed one as you should have
    12.

  • Kevin,

Good catch - actually the 12th SP was #164 Zach Duke.

The one in Marietta is no more. image On the plus side alot of those guys have now moved to Venture Mall for your one stop shopping needs. image
Move along folks.......Nothing to see here.
  • Kls-
You noted that a few of your cards were damaged. This is the only negative I can see for this product. I have bought three retail boxes and probably 25 - 30% or so of the cards have dinged corners. Is anyone else having this problem. It's funny because the Hobby Box I bought when they first came out was fine, no damage at all. LMK. Dan

The cards damage really easily. I know because I have put all my short prints in penny sleeves
before I put them in my binder. I have scuffed a few corners and have to be very careful! Needless
to say the road that heritage has to take to get to target and kmart is much more rocky than
the road to a hobby shop, and it looks like the retail box packs have to be wedged into the boxes..the
walmart boxes look like they have more room, but the others could damage easliy.

What Im going to do is when I get to the end and this product has all but dried up, is send all the
cards I need replaced at once to topps. I can provide an address if anyone needs it!
