PCGS grades are in

I sent in my first collector's club submission and after 1 month, I have my grades. I'm happy too. How rare is that?

One was a 1937-D 3 leg buffalo. It was sold to me 5 years ago raw as a VF20. I paid $200 for it but it had great details. The old dealer who sold it to me said a Vf buffalo must have a 100% full horn. Well this one did and more. PCGS gave it EF40!

Coin 2: 1925-S California. I bought this one 2 months ago in a MS64 holder. I thought it looked very nice for a 64 except for a few small spots. I removed the spots and it came back MS65! There is a nice price jump here.

Coin 3: I had some fun with this coin. It is a 1881-S Morgan. I wanted DMPL. NGC gave is MS65 PL, ANACS gave it 65PL. Now PCGS gives it 65 PL Hmm, must be a 65 PL

Coin 4: A 1898 MS65 DMPL morgan with a super cameo. The later Morgans are very hard to find cam. was in an ANACS holder I wanted to cross-over. The grade listed was M/G. What does that mean?

Well, just had to share. I'm happy with my grades.

M/G ir N/G? N/G would be a no grade or as we say a bodybag.

MG might mean it didn't meet the minimum grade you put down on the submission form.

Still, three out of four is a GREAT invoice. Congratulations!
    When in doubt, don't.

Well coin number 4 says M/G, not a NG or a no grade. It was still in the ANACS holder so there is no way it is a bodybag. They don't crack out the coin unless the coin crosses. I was expecting a DNC (do not cross) or a grade. I'm not sure what M/G stands for. Oh, they gave it a PCGS cert number. Does that mean it crossed? Do bodybag coins get cert numbers?

What is the cert number? Did you look it up on the cert database to see if a grade was listed for it? Curious to know what MG means as well.

Congrats on the other fantastic grades. The 3-legged Buff must be a nice coin. Great buy at $200.00 as well. image

Any ideas on what M/G means? Maybe PCGS didn't grade it. I'm not sure if they alow crossovers in the collector's club.

You have to have all of the same submission types on one form. Since this was a crossover with 3 regulars, they probably skipped it.
