Anyone know about a 1920 Teddy Roosevelt medal by Fraser? (PHOTO ADDED)

This medal is uniface and measures 38mm in diameter. The obverse bears a bust of Roosevelt facing right and is inscribed "J E FRASER 19©20" to the left of the bust and "MDCCCLVIII - MCMIXI" to the right. I assume it is made of silver, but there are no markings on the reverse or edge.

Thanks for any help!image

Dunno anything about it, but it looks like you made a nice addition to your political memorabilia collection.

I suppose you're allowed to add one or two pieces to that, since it's an election year. But if you ever again start selling coins to finance that collection, we're gonna have to gather all the forum members up and have an "intervention". image

It's probably by James Earle Fraser, the engraver better known for his work on the Buffalo nickel. This piece isn't specifically mentioned in Forrer but it does say that he produced fine medallic Portrait-plaques, beginning as early as 1913.

    Nice piece! image
