May be NGC. But what grade did they grade it?

With PCI, you really have to be carefully because some of their early slabs were undergraded... I have seen some that really made me wonder about grading in general...

<< <i>because some of their early slabs were undergraded... >>

All the more reason to bust 'em out. People read the grade and think it actually means something. image

Actually I felt one was over graded a bit, one under and the other was about right but figured it should be freed. image

With certain coins I tend to agree that there may not be a reason to slab, however, if they are rare and high quality in terms of their state of preservation, then a slab makes some sense.

They have a purpose. I did leave some coins in holders because they were early matte proofs and I don't really feel like dealing people who will try to claim that they are not. It's better on my blood pressure. image

In the case of PCI slabs, I am all for setting the poor coins free. I side with the PFLSC on this one!image

These are actually the old PCI holders with the blue world coin labels. If they were gold labels, they'd be cracked out and then the slab plastic burned in effigy. image
