Quick question: What's the safest/best method of shipping a $45 coin to England?

How much are you looking to spend? You can easily get up to nearly half the cost of the coin itself.

For a $45 coin, I'd send it well-packed USPS first class. IMHO, it's not even worth insuring -- for $45, I'd just take my chances.

UPS or FEDEX AIR; ground service is too unreliable.

Thanks for the responses. I would like to keep shipping costs at $15 or less, if possible. Is there a 3-4 day UPS service available? We are self insured.

I have shipped many coins to the UK. Registered Mail is the safest, Global Priority Mail for $5.00 is also good. I use a padded envelope, size 000, inside the Flat Rate Small Global Priority Mail Envelope.

Safest - insured air parcel post, but it'll cost about $20.

Best (fingers crossed). Just put it in an envelope with a Safe-T-mailer. Cost = 80 cents.

USPS Airmail cost you about .75 cents, takes about 4 days! I've never had any problems.
