It's not possible to tell authenticity from those photos - they are too small and do not show enough detail. If it is a copy, it's not a cheap one.
It does appear, however, that the coin has been polished to within an inch of its life...but of course such atrocities can be performed on genuine coins as well as counterfeits.
Because of the value of this coin, no personal checks will be offered or accepted. Dang.....that seller should be paying me to look at his wagonload of manure.
Warning signs: 1. if the coin is so "valuable", then why the heck isn't it at least in a 2x2? 2. "no returns" 3. All the coin's letters look bloated and fat.

If it is a real 55 DDO, then it has been polished and is a NET AU coin. I can't tell if it's a counterfeit from the image, but I have seen a few and they are fairly convincing (struck copies).
Actually, he calls it a "DOULBE DIE" and not "DOUBLE DIE". Maybe that's his escape clause when the coin comes back in a bag from the grading service; "I never said it was a double die!".
There are some very deceptive die struck counterfeits around. Is this one? I don't know, but anyone who would even think of buying one of these raw, sight unseen over eBay is asking for trouble.

The seller seems a bit..............eccentric.

I put it in the 'looks too good to be true' dept.
Like the mood lighting tho. Nothing like a little candle wax and heat to warm up a copper coin with no protection from the elements whatsoever!
