Cheaper Method For Paying for non-PayPal Auctions

Issue - Winning auctions where seller does not accept PayPal. I have been purchasing money orders online through auctionpayments.com (Western Union) because it saves me time from having to go to the bank and then to the post office. I'm growing weary of their fees, however. Does anyone have a suggestion as to a cheaper method of payment other than sending a personal check (some of these folks don't even take a personal check), or should I just shut up and pay for the convenience.

walmart has $ orders for $.40 i think. also, if you have one of those check cashing places near you, their $ orders are often free or $.35. another option is a cashier's check (not sure if there are fees; it's been ages since i've used 1)...or for lower $ auctions, send concealed cash.

i like the slurpees @ 7-11, but their $ orders (which are western union) are nearly $2 where I live (i think they hope you'll be so brain-frozen from the slurpee you won't notice)

Items that are under $20 that don't take PayPal get good ol' U.S. currency from me. It sounds like wifey might be looking at the checkbook, huh? I suggest putting things like "progress payment for 25th anniversary diamond ring" in the memo line. She won't even mention it to you and it may benefit you in the bedroom as well.

Agreed that concealed cash is great for lower dollar items.

Wal Mart has $.39 MOs here; Hess has $.69 MOs; the post office has $.90; Western Union at Stop & Shop has $1.
