The Jefferson and Lincoln selection is over whelming.. seriously there are so many awesome coins. There are 3 1919-P lincolns in 67RD, 2 45-P Jeffs in 67FS, etc.

The Barber material is lacking.......can't speak to the other categories.

So far the IHC's and FE cents are underwhelming.

(Putin 1/17) Gone but not forgotten. IGWT, Speedy, Bear, BigE, HokieFore, John Burns, Russ, TahoeDale, Dahlonega, Astrorat, Stewart Blay, Oldhoopster, Broadstruck, Ricko, Big Moose.

why so many super-duper mega-high grade coins? is it just assumed any more that collectors attending a ana show only buy > ms-65+++?

i would love to see a catalog that size chock-full of au - ms-63 coins.

I spotted a few things I'd love to own, saw a few upgrades that seem do-able, but nothing screams buy me.

What am I saying ??? The 1916 DDO Buffalo the 18/7-D Buffalo , also the 16-D PCGS 55 Mercury, and all those BEAUTIFUL SLQ's !!!!!!!!!!!!!! One absolutely wonderful 1916 and a great overdate.

Look at the 1795 Half Dollar (O-105a) in NGC 55.

The 1898-O Barber Half in PCGS 64.

The 1921 Walker in PCGS 58. ( a great collector coin for sure ).

Drool over the J-60, Gobrecht, in PCGS PR 62.

I'd say there's a bit of everything for most collectors.

Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !

    New Barber Purchases
  • There is much less material than usual for a Sig auction. There are no common date toners at all in the Morgan section. Must be either a very hot market where most folks want to hold on to nice material or the market is dead cold and no one wants to sell. Hmmm, wonder what it is? image
