PCGS Invitational

Hi Everyone,

This week invitations are being sent out to all Set Registry members inviting you to the PCGS Invitational that is being held in Las Vegas, April 12-13. Besides having the opportunity to meet some of our authorized dealers in an intimate bourse setting and complimentary breakfast and lunches, you will be invited to attend a grading seminar hosted by David Hall. This seminar should prove to be highly informative, entertaining and fun!

If you do not receive you invitation in the mail, it may be because you have not updated your personal information in our database with your new address. If that is the case, please use this link to do so: Update Personal Info
Then email me directly and I'll send you the invitation.

Thanks you.

    My invitation arrived today.

$179 for a room at The Venetian is actually well worth the price!
    When in doubt, don't.

Hmmmm ... I have a free room at the Rio whenever I care to fly out ... they seemed to have liked my play there last October! (All on their money, I might add ...) image

Perfect weekend. It is perhaps the slowest weekend of the year for the casinos and there are all sorts of promotions available. Caesars, for example, gives promo chips to members of its players club for showing up during that ten-day period, along with big discounts on rooms up and down the strip. Check Paris, and New York New York for the "nicer hotels" with bargain rates. Ballys has cheap rates but frankly I would not stay there. MGM also features low rates but the hotel is "too big" and sometimes gets too crowded. For the best in high relief busts, its Mandalay Bay. cheers, alan

    April 12-13?

Those are image kind of days for us accountants.

Maybe if I outsource some of my tax clients returns to India I could go. image

Not having gone before, and having just received my invite, what can I expect? Is this event similar to a regular coin show, other than being limited to pcgs dealers and registry folks?? Any info would be helpful as I am considering going. Also, the invitation mentioned a reduced room rate of $179 per night. I just checked online with hotel.com and their rate for the Venetian for the 11th, 12th, and 13th is $159. For the 14th the rate goes up to $199 and then into the stratosphere beyond the 14th. Thought this might be helpful.

I'm considering attending the event. The coin grading seminar is something I could use. What else is going on? Are any golfers arriving early?

I really wanted to go, however I will be back East on family business. Someone take pictures. Imagine PCGS doing seminars as the slots are eating up the profits. I bet this will be a great time. Next year. I hope it will be in Vegas again.
