Based on the book, "Honus and Me". In short, the book (and movie) is about a 12 year old boy who finds a mint condition T206 Honus Wagner card (I should be so lucky!) and is transported in time back to 1909 where he gets to meet Wagner during the 1909 World Series between Pittsburgh and Detroit. The movie will premiere April 4th on TNT. The book, through the characters of the 12 year old card collector and his interaction with Wagner teaches values such as character, honesty and loyalty. I trust that the movie will send the same messages. I was fortunate to have met the executive producer of the movie - Emmy Winner David Rosemont, at a fundraising event at the Reagan Library. He came with his son to see my Wagner card and we spoke at length about this project. Later, I spoke with him when he was in Canada shooting this movie.
I highly recommend the book for all sports fans. It is also an excellent 3 hour read to the kids in our lives. I think this deadball era period movie is just what the doctor ordered from a time long before $15 million/year contracts and steroids were the headlines on the sports pages. I've cut and pasted the link that will tell you more about the movie if you wish to take a look. Forgive my lack of link-shortening!

I've always wanted to be in a movie where I play a kid (or now an adult) back in 1955 opening original packs of cards. A few thousand dollars for packs would be nothing in a Hollywood film budget, so how cool would it be to get to rip them for free? And it would be in my contract that I get to keep the cards.
2005 Origins Old Judge Brown #/20 and Black 1/1s, 2000 Ultimate Victory Gold #/25
2004 UD Legends Bake McBride autos & parallels, and 1974 Topps #601 PSA 9
Rare Grady Sizemore parallels, printing plates, autographs
Nothing on ebay

remember that NOTHING in Hollywood is REAL.
you would be opening FAKE packs
of FAKE cards.... (or shall I say, PROPS)
but hey, you might could sell them on Ebay
for few bucks!
My third grader is on page 38 of the book and loves it. The boys in his class are reading other books by Dan Gutman and are really liking them! I think there is one about M. Mantle and something about a sprinkler head.

Thanks for the heads up Brian.
You did make me chuckle with this line
