In light of the woman trying to pass off a novelty $1million bill I have a question. What's the largest legal bill ever produced? Thanks

I believe it was a non-negotiable $100,000 note but there was a regular circulation issue $10,000 note
which is still legal tender.

The $100,000 notes were Federal Reserve Bank transfer notes bearing the portrait of Woodrow Wilson. They were not for use in circulation, thus non-negotiable as Cladking said. The $10,000 notes were the largest circulation notes, the last of which being series 1928 and 1934 notes bearing the portrait of Chase.

The Federal Reserve Bank here in Chicago has a $10,000 bill on display and a cube with over $1,000,000 in $1 bills!

Binion had 100 $10,000 bills at one time that he use to show-off in a display case. Only 400 where said to have been made. The $100,000 was for bank use only and I think only 40 where made.

I've seen these bills all over the bay for about a buck each.I would've never believed ANYONE could be so stupid as to try to actully use one for a purchace.

I was given one (or one like it) about ten years ago and it feels the same as real money. Very detailed and well made, raised ink, the works. Some of the slower minds take a step backward upon view.

why not something easy like the smallest bill. that would be the 3 cent fractional or postal note. the feds did use gold to back up these notes they used postage stamps.
