  • I'd recommend whitman folders then. Usually about $1.50 to $2.00 each.
  • About the cheapest thing to do, would be to get an assortment of cardboard/mylar 2x2's, several clear plastic 2x2 pocket sleeves, and a 3 ring binder notebook.

The 2x2 holders come in various sizes for the various coins and are stapled closed. These
usually run about $3 per "100". I like to use the next bigger size for the smaller coins so
you can see the edges. There are more expensive plastic holders and for bulk coins there
    are plastic tubes.
    Tempus fugit.
  • Hobby Insider,
If you are interested in my idea, go to your eBay page.
At the top of the page, click on "sitemap"
    Next page, click on "Coins"
    Next page, click on "Coins:US"
    Next page, click on "Supplies"
In the "search" box, type in key words, such as "2x2" and "Pocket" and "Pages"
You will see plenty for auction.
Of course the 3 ring binder can come from your local store, or you may have one around the house.
    Good luck.

You state that your dad doesn't have many coins so if I were you I would just visit the nearest coin shop and purchase the 2x2 cardboard flips (quarter and half dollar or dollar size), a couple of 20-place plastic pages to hold the flips and purchase the binder from the nearest department/discount store. This way you would save on Ebay shipping and handling fees and the wait for postal delivery.

  • I like Jims suggestion too.
I get all my supplies from a local dealer.
Not sure if Hobby Insider has one in his area though.

Staples or Office Depot kinda stores have plastic pages made for holding slides, they work nicely for coins in 2X2's. You can get a pack of ten pages for a couple bucks.

Whitman blue folders are the least expensive types. Many times you can go to a show and find some with several coins already in place. The next step up would be the whitman deluxe folders or littleton holders.
