PSA Grading at Card Shows

I was just wondering. Do any of your take cards to shows where PSA is grading on site and submit them there? Pretty high cost but I could see where just getting a few graded -- then sell them -- could pay for your trip. Advantages? Disadvantages? Anybody?

  • I am planning on grading 2 cards at the next Philly show in April. I the big advantage I see is that I can submit these cards at 35 dollars a pop and not have to be a member according to an email I received from the PSA customer service dept.

  • Don't forget shipping to and from. If you have the time and its not that far of a drive it's worth it.

  • If you are looking to buy/sell a big ticket raw card, it is good to have the opportunity to have them grade it with the price determined by the grade. This is real good for the lower cost and quicker pre-grade options. You can also drop cards off with out being a member for other service levels.
  • I have 12 1955 topps that I am getting graded at the chicago show next weekend...at 35 a pop it maybe expensive but I look at it this way...10% of the threads are about the awful turn around time, check-in and getting them back..I am of the thought that even though I am spending the money..I feel a lot more comfortable waiting 2 hours vs 45-60 days with a submission and all those hands touching my valuable cards...
