Does anyone know why 1885-O Morgans in PCGS ms66 seem to be so scarce?

Shouldn't be, PCGS has graded 1697 of them.

Well most everything up for sale seems to be NGC stuff.

That's because NGC is liberal with 66 and above.

What are you needing one for? Personally, I like to find real nice 65s. When you consider the number of common dates, and calculate the $200 difference per coin, that adds up to a couple of really nice semi-keys. The only two 66s I have were mistakes.

I had a couple nice 65's and kept one and sold one to a board member. Just noticed a paucity of PCGS 66's from all the usual sources.
