7 MVP awards, the single season HR record, career walks record, single season walks record, 700HR/500SB, and two batting titles near 40 years old. How can one argue that those aren't stats of the greatest to ever play the game??? All this and there is still more to come!!!! Bonds:2005 NL MVP. Or are you going to doubt him again?

    << <i>This purchase was very unRoach-like, Roach >>

I really like the enthusiasm and excitement that this product is bringing to this board right now - people are doing stuff that is not done enough - there is talking - trading - sharing - if you think - the things that will make collecting more fun - NOT one mention of a price guide - Thanx.

Did you get that idea from Kevin about "hiding" the goods? I've done that in the past - my wife thinks I'm nuts!
Does anyone have a handle on the product around the country - I don't go to shops - is the product Hot? I was talking to Ron and Chelle and they can't find retail Anywhere - I would not put it past a vendor to retract an allocation to a target store (as if the manager would care?) and sell it off for a little extra cash. Anyone?
    Again, for Roach, good luck.

  • That's a fact. Three Targets, Three Walmarts and a Kmart. Not ONE SINGLE PACK. We've been looking for about two weeks now, everyday.

  • Well, not as good as the 1st box that yielded the Johnny Podres Auto and Smoltz Relic, but not bad either. This most recent box contained:

2 Chromes - Pedro Martinez and Larry Walker
    1 Then and Now #6 - Kerry Wood/Herb Score
    1 Flasback #9 - Whitey Ford

19 SP's. Nomar, Sheffield, Prior, and Pedro Martinez are the highlights. I also got

Ryan Wagner ( old logo )
Jason Kendall ( old logo )
    Marlon Byrd
    Edwin Jackson
    Garrett Anderson
    Mark Mulder
    Kevin Brown
    Neal Cotts
    Eric Owens
    Zach Duke

and others just to name a few. I have to admit, it was still fun to open them.

I didn't really hide the box, I just moved it to the back of the other boxes, behind some Bowman Heritage. It's not like I put the box in the Toys section ya know. I am just surprised that it was still there. I am running out of Targets.

Overall, that was a great couple of boxes - I can't believe how many more SP's there are vs. the two hobby boxes. By the way, that's what I meant - I usually puch it behind the nonsports stuff till I come back to it - where did Kevin hide them? Are you going to complete a base set?

Ron and Chelle....Im really sorry to hear that. Where do you live? If you continue to run dry I will
try to pick you up something and will sell it to you so you can get a taste. Hopefully Kmart will
score big on this stuff. Here are some hints to improve your odds:

Target...gets cards in at night around closing. They keep them in boxes near the register...they will
have yellow tape on them. Most of the time they put them out around closing or the next morning.
If you are checking Target around noon time it will already be picked over. Don't be afraid to raid
the receiveing boxes before they hit the shelves, most targets won't care and you will score
not only good retail boxes but unsearched packs!

Kmart is now stocked by beckett or some company. The guy will show up a few times a month to
take inventory and then stock the shelves. I remember last year waiting 30 minutes in the parking
lot after he put out like 12 boxes of 03 heritage! If you have a kmart like mine that is loaded with
old product you might need to "create some room"

Grab a cart and load it up with 10 or so boxes..the idea is to make the card section look bare....go into
the toy isle and set the boxes up all neat, like they are for sale. Most likely they will be ther untouched
for weeks! Maybe this is the break you need!

Walmart...I haven't figured it out yet, but it seems like they are stocked at night. I think this is the
hardest store to find heritage at.

Welp hope this helps, Im hiding enough that I will have some for you if you want, and Im sure others
    here will help too!

  • Kevin,

We are in Charleston, SC. As far as the Targets go, we should be good as far as getting a heads up. We made nice with the guys who stock that section. They each said that they would let us know BEFORE they put them out. Hopefully they, or at least one or two, will let us know. The Walmarts I feel are hopeless. The only cards that they have in all three are what we assume are kids cards. Yu-Gi-Oh (? The spelling is probably worng) and Pokemon. The Kmart is JAM PACKED with old stuff and so much Bowman Heritage 04 that we could probably build 500 sets. It's ridiculous. As a matter of fact, the Targetsand both Toys R us (yeah, we check those also) are also jammed with the Bowman. Creating room at the Kmart sounds like something worth trying...............
As far as picking up a box or two for us, that sounds great. Just let me know if you are able to and one we'll shoot the address over to you along with the $. If not, at least we have a case of the Cracker Jack preordered. We can at least rip those!

Well, you guys have me hooked on getting some of this now...and, I can't find it either! I checked a Target, Walmart, and Kmart near me in Connecticut, to no avail. You are right about finding lots of Bowman Heritage though! I will keep looking, but I knew I should have just bought some hobby boxes at the Fort last weekend...
