Can someone explain these Peace Dollars?

Just bought an ANACS 65 1923 Peace (to go with another ANACS 66 1922) and found something quite interesting. You are looking at the base of the neck on each coin. Sorry for the quality of the pics - I had to take them through about 20x magnification so they'd show. Notice the die crack running across the bottom on the first, the 1922.

Now compare to the 1923:

The 1923 is a more complete crack, but generally both are identical. Is this just a very common place for a die crack on a Peace, or is this just an amazing coincidence?
