John Reich Collector's Society

Is anyone here a member of JRCS? I was wondering if they are still going strong... there web site is out-of-date... besides their journal... is it worth it for me to join? What would there be for me to gain, excepting the journal, because I'm thinking that's where most of the value would come from for me. Thank you.

Yes you should join, especially if you are into bust material. It's a good source of information.

There was a thread on this a week or so ago (maybe more?). I'm a member, but I would say it's only worth it if you're REALLY interested in bust coinage. They have census reports with rarity ratings that are more accurate than Browning-Breen, which is nice so you don't overpay based on a rarity rating. I think the journals are really well done, though, and there's lots of interesting information in them. To give you an idea: in the latest journal, there's articles on: "Discovery of an 1833 Bust Quarter Remarriage"; "Pre-Turban Bust Half Dollar Census"; "Early US Minting Methods" etc etc. Hope that helps. image

If you are truly interested in the bust coinages I heartily recomment the JRCS journal. And frankly with the cost of the membership you realy have nothing to lose and a lot you can gain.
