I did! image Feel free to post your new purchases. Looks like the good Dr. sold off $4.5 million according to the "prices realized" report.
Hope ANR won't mind me (us) using their images. I (we) promise to trash their's as soon as my (our) coins arrive.

    I bid on one fairly pricey coin and was outbid. Looked in the prices realized today, and the lot isn't listed, so I presume it didn't meet its even pricier reserve.

    There's another coin tonite I'll be bidding on (via Internet).

    I won "only" lot #258. But, compared to most, that's not too bad, especially when you consider that it contained 3 coins.

    Congrats to all. Nice coins. The only coin I coveted was the copper Gobrecht - went for 115K! Needless to say, I didn't bother bidding.imageimage

    Bear, are you sure you got #254? I have it down as a $600 hammer to a different bidder number.

    I did consider Lot 594, the 1831 half -- until I saw it during the lot viewing. The picture does the coin too much justice, IMO; just not what I'm looking for.

    What I was looking for was lot 590 , the 1824 AU58 - which I thought I had won, until the auctioneer reopened the bidding! I dropped out as the price doubled to $2k.

    Lets just say I think I won the lot. It shows up green on my list.

    So many things were going on, I really cant say for sure on#254

    untill the bill shows up. As for the Bust Half, I really wish the stars had a full strike

    on them. The bid with juice is a strong MS-64 price. We shall see when I actually get a look

    at the coin. I had doubts at the end but my bid was in and could not be changed downward.

    On the other hand, Bear, maybe you did exactly the right thing, buying lot 594. The really good looker in that series was lot 599, which shone like a lamp and did have full stars -- but that hammered for $22k.

    Yours was one of the next best picks; buy your coin and spend the difference on a new pickup to carry it from show to show!

    I thought lot 599 looked dull and unnatural. It has clearly been dipped and/or conserved. No way it can be that free of any toning after 170 year. In contrast, I thought lot 592 looked very pretty and natural. Except for some marks on the cheek, which downgraded the coin for me to MS64, I was tempted to bid on it.
