  • I don't remember exactly, but it seems to me, that they took from Russians regular Cyrilic alphabet for their writing, meanwhile their language hasn't anything in common with Russian language, sure.

  • From what I see on the coin, the cyrillic is regular. I'm pretty much convinced they also have the extra characters employed in Russia (such as the "backward e", meaning a short "e"). Don't know about "i", which is used in Ukraine.
