Check my math - GRADES IN!!

Submission received 2/12 (Thursday). Don't count this day.
1st day 2/13 (Friday)
2/16-2/18 Vegas Invitational - clock stops
2/19-2/20 = days 2 and 3
2/23-2/27 = days 4-8
3/1-3/5 = days 9-13
3/8-3/9 = days 14 and 15.
So if the grades aren't posted by end of business today (they are not yet)
then I'm over 15 days and start collecting freebies (upto 4 for 4 days late since
I submitted 4 paid and 1 quarterly free submission). Right??

Yes, I have one received 2/12 also not done yet.
Should get one comp if not done by close of business today.

Can't count Friday the 13th. Who wants their coins graded on that day?
Can't count Flag Day (2/24). We're all patriots, right?
Can't count Ash Wednesday (2/25), obviously.
Add these three days and you're into the weekend and the Baltimore show, can't count that.
If they're only two days late, it's St. Patrick's day. Nobody can grade on St. Patrick's day or the day after.
    My guess is 3/19, maybe.

In order for the new grade gaurentee to be in effect your coins had to be received after 3/1.. so as we say in Poland Tough Sh!tski!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Actually, the old grading guarantee was better. The total number of coins equaled the number of freebies, regardless of how late.

    Rob,

Tomorrow would actually be day 15; maybe even Thursday. It's not just the actual days at a show, but also travel time.

  • So in order to avoid confusion, the website should list the dates of the show and also
how many days the graders will be off. It doesn't make sense that we can not
easily calculate the number of days that a submission should take. (Of course, that
    may be the intent!!)

Too bad on the half dime. Is that one of those that have a very light cleaning that ANACS slabs as a 61?

I didn't do as well, got a hit on each coin but at least no dnc's.

    1 21493498 1833 H10C USA AU58 (ngc 61)
    2 21493499 Pan-Pac 50C USA AU55 (ngc 58)
    3 21493500 1876-S T$1 USA AU50 (anacs 55)
  • I don't know why the half dime didn't cross. It has a beautiful toning
on it; maybe they thought it was AT.

I thought PCGS was going to start explaining why coins don't cross. Is there any indication or does it just say DNC? Maybe when you get the coins back there will be some sort of explanation.
  • It didn't say on the online report; it might when I actually get the coins.
