SSP - UK Proof sets 1971-1982 sets on ebay @ $0.99 ENDING TONIGHT

I have an uniterrupted date run of UK Proof Sets from 1971-2002 for sale. I have listed the early sets (1971-1982) on ebay with starting bids of $0.99 each (I think this time I should have my head examined). There is also a silver proof 1989 £1 starting at $0.99.

1983, 1984, 1988, 1989 (in box), 1993, 1994 (in box), 1995 (in box), 1997 (in box), 1998, 1999 (in box) are house in blue leatherette cases.

1985, 1986, 1987, 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1996 are deluxe sets in red leather cases.

2000, 2001 and 2002 are the standard issue sets.

All coins are FDC, but there are some toning (hazy) in the 1983 set and to a smaller degree on the 1984 set. The 1985 set has a beautiful tone on the 20p - very unusual for a Cu-Ni coin indeed.

If you would like any of the sets not on ebay, please PM me with an offer. I also have some mediocre photos of each set I can post as requested.

With all due respect Mr Wybrit, you should commit yourself in selling used VCRs. I can't believe the price it's reached! Are you selling it as a collectable item? (certified perhaps?)

edit: Shipping will be steep, I'm afraid. The package weighs around 30 pounds, according to my bathroom scale image

Sorry, I can't help it. Description from a competitor:

    " Description
This is a Sony Betamax, model SL-4500. It has been on a shelf in the family room for years. I can't remember much of its working condition, though I do know that the rewinder went out or didn't work well enough, so we purchased an external rewinder. /////// I plugged it in and it powers up. It sort of rewinds, but I think it slips or something so consider that function dead. I tried to find some cables to test it out. It shows a picture that fluctuates from black and white to color, but also fluctuates to no pictures. I can't figure out if the cable is loose or not the correct cable, as touching the cables tends to effect the picture. The sound is there. So, please take all of this into consideration. ////// Cosmetically, it is in very nice condition. /////// Included is the betamax itself, the external rewinder (which is dual voltage and works great), a cleaning tape, and three Sony L-500 beta tapes which have movies of some sort on them. //////// The unit itself weighs 35 pounds before boxing, plus more for the external rewinder, assuming you want it. I don't charge for boxing, or handling, etc., just ACTUAL postage. I assume it would go UPS. I am in zip code 60521 if you want to try to exsimate. There is no point in boxing it all up if I just end up trashing it after there aren't any bids." image

You're probably right. Can't seem to get a bid on these sets. They're well above average for the most part, too.

A couple of years ago I sold a nonworking Betamax for $100. The buyer couldn't have been happier about it.

There is a large group of Betamax aficionados out there. I can understand why. The picture quality was always superior to the clumsy VHS. That machine was just an awesome toy for its time. SL-HF900s in good working order can get as high as $450. Of course, they cost a heckuva lot more than that when they were new.
