To: Sellers of PCGS Coins

I wouldn't say anything, but it seems to be becoming more and more prevalent of late. Please, all of us that sell slabbed coins, eBay, member to member, whatever.. Please, if it's at all possible, try to have the cert numbers deleted from any registry sets the coins came from. Where applicable, of course.
I'm doing another kabuki dance this afternoon, over some coins I won last week. They arrived this morning, and I'm not able to enter them.
Thanks, Jerr

Hope they were not from me!

  • your coins will be added to your collection eventually....most sellers who have coins that have been previosly listed on NGC,PCGS registry lists are at the descretion of those services to remove them....I have removed all of my coins from those lists but continue to get e-mail requesting permission from those sevices to remove the select coins from my list to the new purchaser....maybe that is a good thing...maybe that insures a correct transaction from seller to buyer...one listing to another listing...I have come to realize that patience is the key to registry lists....I think it all works out in time and the coins you list will be assigned to you...Please forgive the incorrect spelling....diggerdog

Thanks diggerdog. I do know that sooner, or later, the coins will become available to enter into my set(s). It's just that I'm still new to the registry thing, and my egoistic attitude prevails. I'll chill.
I just think that were I contemplating selling coins I had in a registry set, deleting them would be foremost on my mind.
Well... maybe how much I might ask, or get for them, would share that thought!
    It's a Monday. What do I expect?

Sometimes its not a good idea to delete the coins until the buyer and seller are sure of delivery. I just had a problem with 3 coins getting lost in the mail and if I had deleted them from my set before the customer recieved them no one would of had the cert #'s to report them to the insurance company. I will usually put them in a second set before selling them just for that reason. You should just contact the seller he should be more than willing to remove them now that he is sure you have them!!!!!
  • Another interesting twist on this situation occured with me. I purchased a wonderful coin but couldn't update my registry set. I contacted the seller and he deleted the coin from his registry set. I still couldn't add the coin. I gave it a day or so, figuring it was a data caching issue. When I still couldn't add the coin after 2 days, I contacted PCGS. As it turns out, the seller had indeed deleted the coin but had not clicked on the "validate" button.
