He went 3 for 4 with a Home Run and 3 RBI from the leadoff spot. Looks like his Donruss Elite which is currently fetching $175 won't be selling for .50 in three months like you claim.

So that's how you guys do it, huh? Is that the secret of prospecting? You wait until somebody has ONE GOOD GAME and then you jump all over them??? That's funny, because right after his game, one of those Elite rookies ended at $125 even. Somebody met the resrve on their last bid. Alot of the current ones have been bid up high right after they listed over a week ago.
Where were you guys when he had the 3 hitless games before this one? C'mon, let's be fair now. He definitely had an impressive game today, but the key is consistency. One thing I never heard out of you was what price you thought was the ceiling on the Rios RC? Is it still a good buy at let's say, $150 or so? How about the $125?
I really hope for the sake of all the people wasting their $$$ on his current prices, that he does have a great year! I hate to see people lose their money. Laroche is over priced also right now.
Remember, your profit isn't a profit until you sold the card for more than you paid. I heard you and Beachbum bragging about the Ultimate Collection Delmon Young Auto RC. Rightfully so if you got some of them at $125 a pop. But you can't say that you made a profit just yet. As far as we know, you both may sit too long on them cards until his prices drop back down. For all of the good investments some of you have made, I still see some insane $$$ spent on these Rios rookies at their current levels. I think it's easy to get carried away and obsesses with one player and not realize when you have enough. After you guys stopped getting the Rios's at under $100 a pop, I would have laid off and waited for the right time to sell all of those copies rather than keep pumping $$$$ into the guy at the higher costs ( current prices ).
Good luck on the prospecting. By the way, Jeff Mathis is looking pretty good.

I picked up about 20 '02 SP Prospect Autos of Bill Hall for the most $2 a piece here or there. Most of them were usually around 41 or so. He is having a great spring for the Brewers. If he keeps it up a bit longer, I will list them individually and grab $5-$7 a piece on Ebay. Maybe more. Not thousands of dollars profit, but it's better than being in the red. He can steal bases, hit for extra bases, and has 15-20 HR power for a smaller guy. Take care!!!
No, I agree 100% that you don't buy a guy based on one game.
Where were you guys when he had the 3 hitless games before this one?
Oh, I see. So by your logic then we shouldn't go crazy over a guy a game where he has 4 at bats (which I agree with), but it is definately okay in Roach's Guide of Common Knowledge that if a guy starts out 0 for 6 in Spring Training then he has to be put up there with the biggest busts ever. Glad that's clarified.
