Nickel Trader...anybody use them ??

nickeltrader.com ?? Thinking of getting a couple Liberty nickels from them...anybody dealt with them and have any comments ??

    I had no problem with them. I bought several coins and a lot of rare/used Red Books from them. There shipping was quick too.

    I don't know how accurate their grading is. From a couple of items I looked at in the Lib Head nickel are, they were calling coins with two or three letters in LIBERTY a fine+,

    They are local to me and I see them at many local shows (and they operate one of the local Sunday-only shows). Board member PTVETTER knows the guy well.

    New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • If this is the fellow from the Pittsburgh area, he has tables at both of our coin club shows here in Marietta, OH. and seems to be a really nice guy. He brings mostly raw stuff to our shows, with a wide variety and does a good business. I have never bought from him, so can not comment further.

    I remember dealing with a guy through mail order about 15-20 years ago that was called the Nickel trader. mike
