"04 Topps Heritage Target Box Bust - Trade

After hitting my local Kmart and then Walmart with no luck, I found 2 boxes at Target for $29.99 each. I bought just one ( hid the other 'til tomorrow ). I don't know much about this stuff, but I feel I did pretty well.

Out of 11 packs I pulled the following:

Albert Pujols Variation ( old logo )
Frank Thomas Variation ( old logo )
Jim Thome Variation "Hitting"

Larry Walker Retrofractor 332/555

Ichiro New Age
Jason Giambi New Age

And finally in the last pack..

John Smoltz Clubhouse Collection Jersey
Johnny Podres New One Auto ( Blue Ink )

Thsi box was $29.99 and had 10 packs + one bonus pack.

I am willing to trade or sell any of this. I am not sure what they are worth at this moment, but I would be glad to help out anyone. I have numerous other cards. Send me a want list and the commons are yours if I have them.

JoeStalin - You get first dibs since you gave me the idea to buy these in the first place. Send me your "cards needed" list.

7 MVP awards, the single season HR record, career walks record, single season walks record, 700HR/500SB, and two batting titles near 40 years old. How can one argue that those aren't stats of the greatest to ever play the game??? All this and there is still more to come!!!! Bonds:2005 NL MVP. Or are you going to doubt him again?

Comments

  • This purchase was very unRoach-like, Roach.

BTW, did you see Aknot has some Callahan's out to PSA for grading...just thought I'd mention that for you.

    Call me later, Dude.
  • I know Mike. But after reading all of the luck the others were having, I decided to give it a shot. With 5 hrs left the Podres Auto I pulled was up to $31 already on Ebay. That would cover my box right there.

BTW, did you get the $$$ I sent you through Paypal? Thanks again.

Yes, I did see that Aknot had some Callahan's out for grading. I want to know what he gets...

I'll call you a bit later.

    400 ( Ishii )
    403 ( Sleeth )
    416 (I-Rod )
    420 ( Podsednik )
    438 ( Matos )
    451 ( Furcal )

  • TheRoach,

I wanted to send you an email, but your PMs are turned off so I'll just post it here.

I need 344, 329, 188, 122 and 57 from the non-SP set if you have them. I need most of the SPs that you have also. If no one else bites, let me know what you're looking for them.

    Thanks

AHHHHHHHHHH I can't believe you went to ebay...I missed out...that would of been a great auto
next to my newcombe! Oh well, I hope you get a good price for it! I told you that these early
retail boxes are loaded! LMK if you are trading the SP's

FYI the cards have not gone for grading yet. Waiting on my "package" from PSA. Email/PM me roach, I think I have a buyer for a few already but I have the whole set and they look as good as the scans I provided. So if there is anything you are interested in and want me to give you first shot at Im more then happy to send those first. Let me know. I do not have the Chandler that is the only one missing. image If you want to see scans of particular ones let me know also and I will post/provide a link to them.

Is there a list of the SP's yet? I think I may have a few. Not big into BB but grabbed a box for S&G's.

No Kevin, you misunderstood me. I didn't list anything on Ebay yet. I just checked Ebay to get an idea of what they were going for. You have first dibs on any of the cards I got. Let me know what you want/need.

I am picking up another box tomorrow. It does sound like these retail boxes give more than the hobby boxes in some instances, huh?

Thanks Aknot, but I own a set also. I sent Mike ( BeachBum ) 3 different ones to have graded. We expect our grades on Friday. I sent him the Chandler ( pretty nice ), Babe Ruth, and Cy Young. I am not expecting anything less than 7's on any of them, but I would love it if my Chandler gets an 8. It's really only off centered from top to bottom.

Thanks anyway. I thought if you got your grades first it would give me an idea of what to expect. I have about 58 others from this set that I am looking to sell off as well.

    A few questions .

How can you tell the variations from the regular cards?

And 398 and higher is an SP?

BTW my 2 boxes yielded crap from what I can tell. About 8 chrome cards..One Pujols new something....... And a few other inserts not worth mentioning retail boxes BTW from Wally World AKA walmart

I sent this to James but decided to post it too in case anyone else starts this set up!

There are 4 types of short prints...Ill try to explain them all...I guess by now you have
the list? It can be found on beckett's site or one here under a heritage post..I forgot which
    ones. OK

    1) Cards #398 and higher....self explanatory
    2) Low number short prints....like Sosa and Ichiro...no variations but short prints just like 398+
    3) Logo Variations...if you look up to the top the logo used is the one they used back in 1955, so
that the cubs logo on Alou for example would be a bear (cub) instead of the "C" for cub
    they use today.
    4) Picture Variations...harder to spot but we are specifically looking at the small picture in the
center of the card...not the bigger picture...all the cards are different but some poses
are short prints. The jersey colored ones refer to the small picture and NOT the big
    main pic on the front.

    I hope this helps

    Kevin

  • Alright Joe, the Podres ended at $31. I'll sell you the Podres, Smoltz Relic, Thomas variation, Walker Retofractor, and Dimitri Young variation for $30 flat. I will throw in any singles you need if I have them. Let me know. I'd be happy to get my $$$ back if I am helping someone out here. I'm not collecting the set. Let me know what you think.
