Why does this 1798 AU-58 Draped Bust Dollar look so weird?

Check out the eye area-the lack of curl lower left of ear -missing bust cleavage-and the surfaces:

Don't really see anything odd except the mottled toning. It's NGC graded. And from TNFC.

Pretty darn sharp strike for that coin. I would be concerned with that coin raw.

I would never buy from that seller - he sold just about all ACG coins, when in was in vogue.

I don't like the coin, it has negative eye appeal.
