Vegas Show........

Just back from a long drive back to home....
I had a blast, and also felt some sadness in Vegas...
The show was great, I was pleasently surprised at the turnout and the lack of ACG slabs.....
There was some knockout Frankies..... Fairtraderz was there with some Killers..... I wanted to meet John in person but he was always busy either buying or selling so I didn't bother him, I did feel some rudeness and coldness from his sons, which was very shocking to me considering the amount of buisness I have done with them, maybe they don't want my buisness anymore?
BTW Fairtraderz had many high end coins of all dominations, I was impressed by that.
I wanted to see PopTopRuss but I didn't remember the name of His buisness, I did look at every table though....
Lots of very nice raw coins were found..... I found a nice 51s Frankie, some nice toned Lincolns, and many Raw Winged Libertys for my album and some I'll sybmit for grading...
To my wonderful surprise, I found many Commems, and many in Ultra Gem grades......
I came across the Cats at BrokenCC.com, and they treated me wonderful and gave us a very nice deal on a PCGs Cincy and a PCGs San Diego commem coins.... I was very pleased with them and they are now on my short list of HepKitty approved dealers.
I saw a dealer go out of his way to help some young kids whom where there with their grandpa, the grandpa said this is their first show. The two boys must have been in the 8 - 10 range. This dealer sold them some proof Susan B Dollars, taught them alittle about the mintages, and just have tremendous patience with them, and keep them excited about the world of Numismatics.... This wonderful dealers name whom I was very impressed by is Jim Coad.....
This show was the 2nd largest I have been to. Long Beach being the largest. I tend to hit the smaller shows for many reasons.... Mostly US coins, but a few World coin dealers......
Had fun at the Union Plaza, they had killer deals on their potent Margaritas!!!!
I have family in Vegas and I have spent much time there, I know the city well........
Heres a few photos....
This first image is at my Grandmothers website at Sunset Memorial in North Las Vegas....... My grandmother was a huge doggie lover, she always had poodles........ This was the sad part..... My Grandpa is also buried here..
At a store called Country Rockn Roll in the Stratosphere Casino, I fell in love with this Grooovy Picture!

Check out this mother of all Margairtas called 'the Yard', found at the Luxor Casino. Six shots of Tequila went into this one..

I am nursing a bad blister too. However I had one of those nights at a blackjack table at the Aladdin that we all hope for. Replete with plenty of rest and a fat wallet from not having spent any money on coins I settled in at first position at a table, only 2 spots were open. I usually want last postion so I have some control over what the dealer gets and so I can see what has hit the table before me. It affects doubling down and splits. The third deal in I was dealt a pair of 8's against the dealers 10. I split them, got dealt another 8 split that one and yes she threw me another eight. I had $50 bet on each 8. The next card was a two and $50 for a double down, then an 8 for 20. Two face cards later I was on the last hand and hit a three, another $50 hit the table for a double down and yep another queen. Even though the dealer hit a two I beat her for six bets. There are 8 decks in the shoe and it seemed like every hand was 19-21 and at one time I hit 3 blackjacks in a row. Even the bust hands got little cards.
The next two shoes were basically breakeven. On the following shoe the cards came again and again. To make a long story short I more than made up for a weeks losses, mostly at the single deck game and came home with a few grand to the good. Last time I did this well was 1986 (yes I keep a record of wins and losses). In the 80's I was a serious blackjack player.
One last thing, I have seen many shows over the years in Vegas and because of my wife's desire we saw Celine Dion on Wednesday night. I figured the worst thing that could happen was a little snooze, but I have to admit I enjoyed this show as much as any I have seen in Vegas. She seems so real, the dancers were incredibly good and the overall production rocked. The computer graphics, the scenery and the stage setup were first class.
I hate it when you see my post before I can edit the spelling.
Always looking for nice type coins

I know off-topic, but sometimes not buying coins can be a good thing.
Very wise, indeed! Sometimes the best purchases are the ones you DON'T make.
um, coins, yeah, Roman coins
