I can see the D!

I can see the D, can you?

1922 no D PCGS

Look at the link for the nice enlarged picture. Can you see the D? I can! So, how much is a weak D 1922 plain worth to you? I've posted this before, but the weak reverse 1922 is not the real thing. The D is still there! PCGS and NGC should not certify the weak reverse coins as the 1922 no D.

  • I see what looks like a MM but it could be just a surface discoloration - hard to tell from the pic. I'd have to believe that if it were a D that PCGS would have seen it when the coin was in hand. A grading mistake maybe? If it is a D, it's a $10 or so coin in G04. Given the current bid ($146), at least one person sees it as a 22 no D.

If that is a truly a "D", that would make it the weak "D" variety. I believe PCGS will not designate that variety (which happened as the die was begining to fill with grease).

NEVER EVER BUY a "Weak Reverse" alleged 22 Plain/No D. They are not the real McCoy no matter if the D is visible or not. They are NOT worth anything even remotely close to the Strong Reverse.

ANACS is the only place to my knowledge that identifies these (what I would call) Properly.

I call for PCGS to stop grading the weak reverse as a 1922 no D. How can this be done?
