Two Images of the same toned Coin

Last year there was a discussion of toned coin images that were enhanced, and I made some examples. I think now would be a good time to show these again. The top image is unaltered, simply cut and pasted from the original digital images. The second image was worked on in Photo Shop. If you have done much surfing on eBay lately, the enhanced image will probably look familiar. The coin looks maybe a bit better than the top image, but nothing like the bottom image.

Good post Eric! Many of these monster toned coins posted on this forum have had picture work as you have shown here. They look spectacular but not real- I guess I would call them AT photo's. mike

This came from a board member toned coin dealer. The picture on the left is his picture and I thought a Morgan with greenish yellow color bands was unusual. It looks EXACTLY like my picture on the right, which is what I was expecting anyway.

Some of the toned coins shown here do not look like the pictures that are shown? Say this is not so. Fug, I am really let down by this revelation that has been brought forth in this thread.

It's really nice to know this. I've seen many of these monster on ebay. Almost purchased on till I noticed feedbacks mentioning that it wasn’t really a naturally toned coin. But some how enhanced. Thank you from a newby.

I am sure you are referring to Bondman on Ebay and yes he greatly enhances his photos.

All I know is the board member dealers selling toned coins that post on a regular basis, and the ones that pop in from time to time can't be enhancing their images.

I say this because they are board members and we are only supposed to tear apart folks like Tonecoin and Bondman that don't post on here.

Besides I know the board dealers are here to help educate us and share their knowledge with us so we can learn about toned coins and the market. Hey thanks guys!!!!

Here's another one from a board member that deals in toned coins:
His on left, mine on right. His pict shows a vibrant green & red Morgan and in real life it's blue and looks exactly like my picture.
