This just in from Heritage...
1957 25C PCGS MS67
Yes, this is my first REAL MS67 Washington. I once owned an "ICG MS67," which wouldn't even cross to a 66 at PCGS. Oh, well...
I've noticed a few of things about MS67 Washingtons:
1) There is a HUGE difference in price between NGC and PCGS-graded coins (in some cases, an order of magnitude!). Check out the current offerings at Heritage.
2) My new coin has great luster. Maybe PCGS puts a good deal of weight on this aspect?
3) This coin is also very well struck compared to what I'm used to seeing. Maybe that's why 67's are so difficult. There aren't too many around for most dates.
4) Mint-set toning apparently doesn't preclude a 67 (this coin is obviously falls in that category)
Anyway, this one will make a good type coin. Have you bought any interesting Washingtons lately?

They do indeed, and not just in Washingtons.

Nice coin Dan. Did you notice that it is also rotated counterclockwise?
You got a good price. Here is the coin I bought on ebay a few months back. It has a light tone and I looked long for one quite a while, since I am only buying one for my type set.
