SMS quarter doubled die?

It looks to have doubling on the top side of the letters in liberty and in god we trust. Is this the 1967 SMS doubled die? mike image

It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Super Sweet! Could be CONECA DDO-2 for the date and FS-026.5. If this is the coin it is actually a tripled die in early die state strikes...

Cool coin, but it looks like MDD. Sorry. All of the "doubling" appears to be shelf-like, with no split of any of the letter edges or serifs. Likely banged the die a second time during ejection. JMO

Thanks Ken! I had to take the picture of the " in god we trust" upside down to see the doubling otherwise the shadows would obscure it. mike image

Man, do I feel like a doofus on second thought ... likely strike doubling. A warning never to listen to me. I should have looked at the images more carefully before piping up. Does look a bit deceptive on the serifs in a few spots. Mea culpa ... image

These things can fool you sometimes especially when the image is displaced in just the
right direction. There are lots of MDD quarters in the SMS's and if memory serves this one
is one of the more common ones. The LIBERTY especially looks right and even seems to
have a little split at the bottom of the B.

I agree with the MDD crowd...that's what it is.
