How does one go about removing a wrinkle on a trading card? Pressing? Soaking?

If what these people are saying is true, someone turned a $3000 card into a $150000 card. Not bad.
I recollect that the topic of card restoration was extensively discussed in SCD many years ago - they even allowed some advertising to include the removal of wax, stains etc. - even a discussion of wrinkles. As we know, although in other areas of ephemera, restoration can enhance value (movie posters, comics e.g.); not so in cards. This whole thing just quietly went away. I have found someone who advertises they will restore baseball cards - I have emailed them a question with regard to a surface wrinkle which I actually have on the reverse of a 66T Mantle.

They don't provide a lot of information but do list baseball cards as part of their repertoire.

isn't this the scourge of our hobby, or is it only if you get caught doing it, that it is considered unscrupulous?
if the wrinkle is removed (card doctored) and no one notices does that mean it was never there?
Agreed - I only checked into it because of a question asked - strictly investigative knowledge - I think Koby was curious if it is going on and so am I - the only way to even get a handle on something is to check it out or ask someone who has had first hand experience.
