Ugly 1969 PSA 9

I have been briefly looking for PSA 9 1969 Detroit Tiger card for a type collection I started working on. I came across this Earl Wilson card. It looks like it has questionable centering for a 9, not to mention a couple of dots in the yellow circle. Is this really a 9 by 1969 standards?
Thanks,
Jim

It's not a "high-end" 9, but it looks okay for the technical grade to me.
  • Small Print Dots, Rough Cut, Less than ideal centering.

For my money this is where I would rather own a 7 that presents well.

    Hi Sandy,
That was my issue with it as well. It sure is an ugly lookin' 9. Think I'll wait for a better one to come along.

I don't think it looks that bad. I've seen some really horrible looking 9's with centering concerns, but this isn't one of them.

I didn't think it was that bad. not a high end 9 but a 9. if it had all the things you are talking about you would be saying "why isn't it a 10" the rough cut is not a detractor as it doesn't chip. I actually prefer the rough cuts. the print dots? seem very minor

I would also add that if it were in an 8 holder, I wouldn't disagree with that either

I was not saying that it is not a 9 "technically". Just that it is not a good looking 9 IMO. It is the kind of card I try to weed out when making purchases. I really try to be as selective as I can. You are correct though that if it was not rough cut (I have about 1/2 the set in about an 8.3 GPA and have no rough cut cards - is this common with the 69's or did I just weed them out when I was buying?), had no print dots and had perfect centering I would be wondering why it was not a 10. image

Kudos though to the seller for a great scan.

Thanks for the input everyone. I have no graded 69 cards and was wondering if this 9 was typical.
