Pic from MorrellMan

Hi all. I am a friend of MorrellMan and I've been helping him with HTML and URL info and such. Apparently he had a devil of a time posting some pics the other day so I'm going to try my hand at it for him

Hey, how about that!
I'm not a collector although I do have my autographed 1988 World Series Game #1 Ticket Stub signed by Kirk Gibson himself! And, yes, along with 3 million other people, I was there!

  • Cool pic - always neat to see these regional issues.

The Gibson homer... ah yes, I believe most baseball fans will remember exactly where they were when that happened...

That is just a sweet looking card! It almost looks 3-D. I agree, keep posting scans of regional issues, especially the rarer ones from the '50s and '60s. I never get tired of looking at them.

Thanks for the scan. If you ever want to post more pics, email me the scans at jeb@virtualizard.com and I'll get them on here for you.

What beautiful cards ! Are the cost of these prohibitive? Seeing them makes me want to have some.

    1957 Topps BB Ex+-NM
    All Yaz Items 7+
    Various Red Sox
    Did I leave anything out?
  • Hey, my '61 Drysdale Morrell has the same picture. Maybe I don't need to buy the '59s after all. (just jealous, those are great looking cards).

Always looking for high-grade 1958-62 Bell Brand and Morrell Meat Dodger cards.
  • That Drysdale card looks very neat. I believe thats Los Angeles's old Wrigley Field that he is at. You dont see many cards with that Field on it.

Rick - your Drysdale looks great too! Love these Morrells - twice this year there has been a 1960 Morrell Koufax on eBay which is clearly not a '60 - both times my heart flew, thinking I might have found the elusive '59er - both times the card had stat backs - '61ers! Drat - great card, but not the one I need....

Dave - as far as these cards being cost prohibitive - SMR is way off on high grade. But mostly they just don't show up much.

And hey, leave it to a cubs fan to spot wrigley - I was never there although I'm old enough to remember when it was there; I always assumed the background to be Vero, but, now that you mention it, it doesn't look anything like Vero, and it actually does look a little like old west hollywood at Beverly and Fairfax.
