Sorry to "bump" this and I did a search, can someone give me advice on sending these cards to PSA. I know no screw downs, and CHIIs. They say TLs but do they have a problem with a soft sleeve inside a TL? "Packaging" tips would also be appreciatd. I want to get these out hopefully first thing tomorrow.

    Thanks guys.. (and girls?)

Q: How do I package my cards/tickets for shipment?
A: We ask that you send your cards/tickets in flexible plastic sleeves. Please DO NOT send your cards in hard acrylic screw-down-type holders or cardsaver II's; doing so will cause a delay in processing. Place a white sticker on the plastic sleeve and write on it the invoice and line number that corresponds to that card. Example: 62354-1, 62354-2, 62354-3, etc. Ship all packages by registered, insured mail to the following address:

    PSA
    P.O. Box 6180
    Newport Beach, CA 92658

Note: Indicate the type of service desired on the outside of the box, preferably below the address in all capital letters i.e. ECONOMY, REGULAR, EXPRESS, etc

You've probably already read the above, and know they prefer cardsavers over toploaders beacuse the card doesn't move around as much so less chance for damage.
Also, the larger cardsavers reduce the chance of damage when the card is removed. You can use a soft sleeves inside the cardsavers or toploaders if you want.
For packing, they prefer bubble wrap as opposed to packing peanuts simply because it's less of a mess.
You should send the package via registered mail, so you'll need to seal all openings on the box with special tape that you wet and then apply.

Hope some of this helps, ask away if you need more clarification.

By the way, cool cards ...

You mean Toploaders over Cardsavers right? Or is there a diff between a "cardsaver" and a CS 2? They seem pretty "tight" in a soft sleeve then in a toploader. Who makes the Cardsaver (those are those "flimsy" plastic sleeves right? never liked them) I would think it would be harder to get the card out...... Thanks for the input and the nod to the cards. I have the whole set in that condition EXCEPT for the Chandler card and two others that are "bent".

PSA discourages using toploaders for submissions.
If you use the proper size flexible plastic sleeve, as they suggest, your card will look something like this :

Thanks. Soft Sleeve and One of those...flexible......thingys.... In bubble wrap. Individually wrapped or wrap them all in the same bubble wrap? Sorry will hopefully be last. I think WalMart has some of those flex holders.

    Thanks again.

They will send you a book on their top card list, forms and instructions - you will get a special submission form for the 6 free cards - I want to say that they included the card saver I's for the 6 cards. They specifically like the 3x4.5 type since it comfortably holds pre57 cards. You may want to go to a hobby store and pick up a pack. PSA sells them at .10 a piece which is kind of high - you should be able to get them a bit cheaper.

You can bundle all the cards together and then bubble wrap them.

It really is confusing until you've done a submission,
and it would be nice if PSA would put a tutorial with pictures somewhere on their site.

Once I get up to speed I would have no problem hosting instructions. I may even take pictures of my package acceptance all the way to my first submission. So give me other tips and advice if there are any and I will try to follow them as best I can documenting it all.

  • Aknot,
You shouldn't have to wait to long for your "packet", PSA sends it priority mail and mine arrived 4 days after signing up, and I live in Ohio! Good luck with your first submission.
