1969 Topps Football 100% complete

Just added my last card to finish this set, #229 Mike Curtis. Thanks to Carpenter Rob for working the trade to finish this set. Of course, I still have numerous upgrades to make, but getting that 100% Gorilla off my back is a major relief. I definitely want to thank the many dealers and private collectors who have helped me the past three years, Especially Greg at Cameo cards, Wolfbear, Nearmint, Toppsfb, Mademily, Nuyauwka, 4 sharp corners and Peter at Champs and Bums. I'm about 45% done with my second set, Kurts Girls, so I will still be watching for more of these awesome looking cards. Again thanks to all of you.

  • Great job Kurt. Thats an awesome set to complete graded. I have it complete in raw, but have others to complete before even attempting to start grading and compile. You're list of helpers is a good one too as they are and have helped me on others. I'll let you know if I have any upgrades for you. BTW - Nice icon!

Congrats....it's quite a feat to complete sets w/ 250+ cards. i know i wouldn't be able to focus that much attention. the '69 set is easily one of the most visually appealing topps offering of that decade

Kurt - great job ! Love the 1969 set.
Last of the psychedelic football sets, unless you want to count 1971.

Hope to put together that set in graded form at some point,
but finding centered 2nd series cards always seemed almost impossible.

  • Congrats Kurt, awesome looking set!!! The 69 set is my favorite vintage football set and hopefully one of these days I will get around to starting it. Your set will be hard to match though!

    Great Job!

I'm also a huge fan of 69's and have been picking up some nice raws to submit someday to get a jump start on the set. PM or e-mail me if you have any double 9's laying around collecting dust.

Nice job again on a fantastic looking set

After reading this thread yesterday, I went & bid on (&won) 3 '69 raw cards. Shame on you Kurt for leading me into temptation.image
