There have been several letters to the editors in the numismatic press recently lambasting
high prices for modern coins. These really needed some sort of response but they've been
in several issues of Coin World and other papers so it's difficult to make a single reply. Rich-
ard Giedroyc whose articles usually appear in World Coin News has an extremely well written
response in the 3-9-04 Numis News. It even breaks a little new ground and amnswers these
many recent critics.
There is also a fascinating article by David L Ganz. The article concerns the recirculation of all
modern coins. There are many implications which can be drawn this story.
Even non-collectors can find either article interesting. There is a lot more in this issue, too.
