    Ok, I'll bite : with the 54S being so poorly struck as a whole, how can you tell the initials have been polished off vs a poorly struck coin? Inquiring minds would like to know. <g>

    On Ken Potter's page he has them with this description.

    1954-S 10c "No JS" Breen#3736. Designer’s initials missing due to abrasive die dressing. Neat and very scarce to rare!

    If you look at the enlarged picture you can see where the initials are gone and "In God We Trust" is weak and then "Liberty" is weak in the middle.
