So here I am, not a care in the world, with 7592 total positives, 5 negatives and a feedback rating of 4196, when I am lucky enough to have a newbie buyer with less than ten feedbacks buy a 1986 Proof American Silver Eagle in its original mint box in one of my auctions. Never mind that I started the auction at One Dollar with No Reserve AND that he got a great deal on the coin.
I ship him the coin, and the next thing I know I'm getting an email from him telling me that the reverse has a weak strike. Of course, I totally understand that it is OBVIOUSLY MY FAULT, so I tell him to please send the coin back and I'll be happy to send him a FULL REFUND. As a courtesy, so he won't be shocked, I tell him that I have to go through a process with eBay to get my some of my fees back, but that he shouldn't worry about it. Next thing you know, here comes the NEGATIVE feedback .
Well, I feel so bad that I treated him poorly, that in order to soothe my conscience I feel the need to have a giveaway. All you need to do to win is to share one of your heartwarming eBay stories with the rest of the Forum (artistic license is not only allowed, it's encouraged). I will pick a winner from the responses in the next couple of days.
Is this a great country or what?
I put several names in a box and had my assistant pull one three out. The last one left was JohnZ, so he is the winner Send me your address and I will try to come up with something suitably Polish

My negative came from a guy who bid on my coin, then emailed to tell me he could not receive emails. I waited for 30 days and then started emailing him. I also noticed he was bidding on other items!! I said to myself "self, I said, this guy can log into his account and read his invoice, even if he can't read emails." After waiting five more days I zapped him with the neg and filed a non-paying bidder alert. He, of course, issued a retaliatory negative with his whining "Contacted seller with problem and asked for patience....refused! Some seller!!!" He then resorted to name calling in the followup. I don't do name calling when I do a neg, it does not address the problem and makes the complainant look childish.
Me and Deb have 346 positives, 1 neg.. The seller listed an MS 66 1896 0 Morgan silver dollar, we won and sent paypal payment, got the coin a week later and it was a....1896 in AG condition, i called him, he told me over the phone that he had used a pic from an auction house auction and that he did not give refunds..... To make a long story short, After i called the Jersey city police dept to file charges, he decided to give me the money back...here is our ONLY negetive feedback!!!!!
bad in bussiness and very theating he said he would kill me to get a refund Seller abdelnoor2578

Only negative I ever left was for a guy that ripped me off for a webcam. The ironic thing is that I tracked the guy down on Long Island, NY and found out that someone else he had ripped off had broken some of his fingers and he ended up in the county hospital prison ward. He got NARU'd before he had a chance to see my comments... Never did get repaid but it was worth it to know that he was eating karma krunchies for breakfast every morning!
BTW, that was when I discovered the Paypal guarantee wasn't worth the bytes it was made of...
You want how much?!!

I don't have any negs myself, but I do have a story to share. I once bought a couple of cheap proof coins from a Canadian seller. The total including shipping was less than $10, so I asked him to send them uninsured. They just never arrived at my place. I waited for a month and a half (usually it takes 5-8 days for a letter to cross the Atlantic) and then I emailed the seller. I simply wanted to be sure that he had not forgotten to send the coins.
He had shipped them long ago - but his reply was short: Don't worry - I have some extras somewhere - I will send them as quickly as possible. And voila, one week later they were in my mailbox. Now that's good service More than he had to, actually, but I have bought from him many times after that. He sure knows how to keep his customers!

Edited to add: Please enter me in your giveaway - and thanks for the chance!
The best/worst one was a too good to be true dutch auction/free shipping for some bullion maple leafs from a guy with 10,000++ positives for beanie baby type stuff. Turns out the feedback had been sold, and the guy ran literally millions worth of scam before being shut down. I even had an FBI agent contact me (who assured my 2 ounces were quite small potatoes compared to many others).
What really sucked was that in about 6 months I got an email from another 'fbi agent' asking for all the typical ebay scam password and ssn type info mixed in with questions about auction numbers, check numbers etc. Unbelievable.
The most shocking thing was that ebay actually coughed up some payback (not counting that gold is now more than $100/ounce higher than it was back when this scam was run!).
Oh well....at least no negs yet (I'd rather have the 2 ounces )
Sorry, just letting off a little steam.
Thanks,

Won auction (date), check cleared (date), coins arrived (date), you make up your own mind.
funny thing was, the guy didn't retaliate and I fully expected him to do that because the last email exchange that we had was rather vehement on his part (threatening to not refund any thing and not ship the coins if I turned him in to ebay, etc).
I still haven't gotten a neg yet....

I bought two Irish coins from a dealer and before they even got to me I received an e-mail saying that they realized they forgot to send me one of the coins and that they probably sent me a wrong coin in its place (ie; 2 coins sent; 1 right one, one wrong one). I replied that I would send back the wrong one when it got here. But, the next day I got an envelope from them with only one coin in it and when I wrote and told them that there was not a coin to return they practically accused me of stealing the "wrong" coin that was never even sent.
I just got the second, correct coin yesterday and do not have feedback from them yet. Hopefully this post does not jinx me into getting a neg feedback.

I've got two negs.....the first was from an idjit who just left the NEG (never mind the SATIFACTION GUARANTEED in the terms)....and, it wasn't even coins. It was some junk Mexican featherwork that my dear wife wanted me to sell....The buyer was also a new bidder. I contacted her (even after the NEG), said send it back and I'll refund. Never heard from her....MORON! Is it OK to name call here, Wybrit?
The other was some punk that ran up the bid ($50 more than the then going price) on my annual Packers ticket allotment just for the heck of it. Filed the NPB and got my credit as did many others and he/they/it have been long NARU'd. What gets me is that eBay will not remove blatant NEGS where the "buyers" never had any intention of following through with their winning bid(s)....what's that about?
And Dan, quit selling those weak, defective ASEs....tsk, tsk!!!

That's what I get for selling that Lightside stuff.....I probably deserved the neg for that, if nothing else

We ARE watching you.
I don't care. It's just not my policy to name call in ebay feedback.
Byron does this still get me entered into the give away.

If you're going to get a neg, you should at least earn it!
