Is this possibly an 1873-cc seated dime?

I recently won this coin on Ebay. I don't have it in hand yet, but I think there is the slim possibility that it may have the "cc" mint mark below the ribbon. What do you think?

You'll have to wait until you get the coin.

If the C's are missing, there's another way to tell.

If you start out where the C's were there will be a die crack that runs up through the right side of the wreath and out the tip of the ear of corn into the rim.

Thanks Steve. I've been searching the internet high and low for more diagnostics of a genuine cc and there doesn't seem to be many. Your information will be helpful.

Your right I forgot about the reeding. It does look a little small. (Not wide enough)

It's so hard to tell with a small and somewhat out of focus picture.

The more I look at the reeding, I think it's just a 73 P.

I know an 1873-cc is a major rarity, so I'm not holding my breath too much. The price was right for the cherry pickin' chance though. Too bad it's got arrows on the obverse. . .

The wide reeding of 89 reeds on the 71-74 CC dimes is unique to them. When compared to a 73 Philly with 113 reeds on the edge the difference should be obvious.

Cool - great way to sell a Philly coin on ebay. Superimpose the ghost of a CC mintmark over the real picture and watch the snipes!!!

That ghost MM is too high and too far to the left. While it is off-center on the real 73-CC, it's not that far off. And, as others already seaid, the reeding doesn't look wide. Place this coin on top of any other (non 71-74 CC) dime and if the reeding lines up, it's a P.
