was GRADE AND TRADE affiliated in any way with WIWAG?

i was looking through some old invoices last night and came across one from GRADE AND TRADE, it had a couple of psa 8 72's on it the ryan and clemente in particular. i'm planning on upgrading the clemente and if fortune smiles on me the ryan as well. i plan to sell both of them, in any case upon close examination they are clearly weak 8's. the holders look fine. i don't want to sell them if they have come from a shady origin. if i resubmit them i think they will end up 7 holders.

WIWAG consigned many of their altered cards through the likes of Grade and Trade. Does not necessarily mean that your cards are altered - but there are definitely red flags. My understanding is that it was more prevalent with some of the modern star cards (e.g. 89 UD Griffey...)
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

I recommend sending the cards to PSA. Put WIWAG review on the invoice. If these are in PSA 8's and they look like 7's there is a very good chance that you have WIWAG cards.

It is tragic collectors were not better informed. Wonder how many more are out there who do not know they are holding bad cards?
