$5.00 Special, Good or Bad?

Obviously PSA was surprised by the current volume of submissions due to the $5.00 special. I think even Joe Orlando admitted that they were caught off guard by the very large volume for this time of year. My question is, will PSA look at this as a good thing, and do more of these $5.00 specials? Or will they look at it as an “oops” and never make that mistake again. I really hope they do this more often, it’s a great excuse to grade more modern cards at a reasonable price. I guess it will depend on whether or not they made money on this current “surge”.

KEN - I doub't they are complaining that they did more business then they expected. I guarantee you they prefer it busy & hectic as opposed to being slow...jay

From a collectors standpoint, obviously cheaper is always better. From their side of the fence, they need to make a profit. It would be interesting to find out whether or not the $5 special was in their best interests.

If anything, the special spurred me back onto to getting off my butt and getting some of my cards into holders!
