Hey Beachbum, can you post BA's top 100 prospects?

I remember you saying that you signed up for the year to Baseballamerica.com and all they give for free is a short rundown of their top 10 prospects. If it's not too much trouble and easy to just cut and paste, can you put the top 100 on these boards for those of us who are too cheap to pay for it? I saw a Q&A with Jim Callis on Espn.com about the list a few days ago, I can't beleive they were so moronic and put Jeremy Reed at number 25. What does he have to do, hit .500 instead of .409? Their reasons were that he didn't have the huge upside tools. Last I checked Pete Rose, Wade Boggs, and Tony Gwynn didn't have an abundance of tools either, I guess Bo Jackson and Eric Anthony are better players than them by this rationale. Anyways, if you could post please do. Thanks, Jason

P.S. Looks like we were right about Delmon too ( Ultimate Collection autos #ed to 250 )!!
We both were picking these up at $125 a pop first week after release...latest sales are now @ $250 per !!!!
Lets take up Boopotts on his $1000 challenge and show him how to make some rookie dollars !!!
I've sent you 1-50 so far, 51-100 on the way !
Mike
Reading what your saying about these rookie buys and sells.
What is your opionion on buying some people like vince carter, that have hit all time highs, and then the bottom fell out. is it a good time to buy players like him now, thinking they will soar back up again if he nears the finals one year???
All these guys have their hayday and then the bottom drops out. Why? Because like with cars, the newer model comes out and is the "sexy" choice.
Of course, there are exceptions to this rule, the "Classics" like a Jordan etal., but even his cards have had their play when the spikes are hung up.
You see strong interest in Bonds because of anticipation of records to be broken; I've now sold all my Bonds at 60 % profit and am happy with that.
If you really would like my opinion, PM me and I'll tell you where I'd put some quick rookie dollars.
Regards,
Mike

Still keeping a "hot hand"......
I may have to disagree slightly with Bleacherbum. VC may be risky, but if the Raptors sniff a championship in the next couple years his cards will go up proportionately. Take a look at Tom Brady. His SP Authentic rookies hit a high of $300 after his first championship. Before this last season you could pick them up in the $80 range and now you can't touch them for much less than $250 again.
The moral of the story is that just because somebody was extremely hot at one time doesn't mean their stuff can't go crazy again. As long as you don't mind sitting on them for a while, it may be worth your time.

If the Raptors sniff a championship? Sorry, but that's the one thing I can basically guarantee they won't be sniffing.
Right now in basketball, I would recommend getting rookies and autos of players who actually have a reasonable possibility of leading their team to a championship this year. That means Peja, Shaq, Kobe, Dirk, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, and possibly Karl Malone and Chris Webber. Any player who should garner a lot of media attention in the playoffs is a decent buy if you plan on selling on eBay right after his first huge playoff game.
Basketball standings are much more consistent than football from year to year.
BTW, Kall and Beachbum, what do you think of Guillermo Quiroz as a baseball prospect (rookies in 2003 sets)? I've been picking up a few of his rookies quite cheaply as my dark horse AL ROY candidate.

I'll tell ya Nick. Quiroz posted almost similiar numbers to Rios who is on the same team and selling for almost 80x what a Quiroz Bowman Chrome is going for. Quiroz has tons of potential and looks like he may be ready this year since Josh Phelps has moved to DH exclusively. He may need a decent spring at least to hold off Kevin Cash, but I still think it looks good.
I'll take about (5) '03 SP Authentic Quiroz Auto rookies /500 over (1) Alexis Rios '02 Elite NON AUTOGRAPHED RC/1000 - twice as many copies. Take my advice.
