Why so much for shipping? It seems like a deterrent to bidders who are on the edge about placing a bid.

I ship all coins USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. Cheapest rate I can get, doing it myself from the computer is $3.85. I add another buck for packaging materials, trip to post office etc. I don't think $4.85 is out of line. I also give people the option of electing cheaper delivery if they wish to assume the risk of loss in the mail. I don't think the S&H charges are out of line at all. Last week, all but 3 auctions sold (and the 3 that didn't were expensive coins not the cheaper ones), so it is my opinion that the majority of purchases do not have a problem with the manner in which I ship coins. I do appreciate your comments, however, and am sorry if the charges keep you from bidding on some fine coins.
